Improper Pig

We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Improper Pig even closer to home, in their new Rea Farms location!

Their new location has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available, daily drink specials, weekday happy hour menu, and the same large portions of delicious food!

We started with an order of the Improper Nachos which is their warm salt & vinegar house chips smothered in pimento cheese and brisket. These were “too die for” as my mom would say! The chips were crisp and tangy, the pimento cheese was warm and creamy and the tender and juicy brisket was an added bonus!

We couldn’t pass up their Smoked Chicken wings either and boy are we glad we didn’t! It’s safe to say we are a bit of snobs when it comes to chicken wings and these were great contenders-juicy, thick and flavorful even without sauce. We decided to enjoy the wings plain so we could try all 6 of their amazing sauces individually. Talking about a palate explosion of flavors with these house made sauces-Eastern BBQ, Mary B’s BBQ, Tong’s Thai, Teriyaki, Buffalo, Inferno, Jeff’s Mustard and Spicy Hoisin!

Next, we ordered the Improper Charcuterie Plate, a carnivore’s delight. It consisted of pulled pork, brisket, ribs, andouille, pimento cheese, slaw, house chips and pickled onions. This is the perfect sharable dish! I was most excited about the pulled pork because what southern girl doesn’t love a good BBQ sandwich?! This is the place to get yours!

Our daughter enjoyed the Side Car kids meal which included a choice of 2 sides plus house-made apple sauce. I don’t know what they put in their apple sauce but our daughter licked her bowl clean and has kept asking for it over and over again at home!

Save room for dessert! If you want the sweet taste of your grandmother’s cooking, order the Banana Pudding!

The Improper Pig is the perfect restaurant if you are looking for a causal, family-friendly spot that offers a menu that everyone can enjoy!
