Celebrate Charlotte’s food and beverage scene at the second annual Charlotte StrEATs Festival this April! The two-day festival will take place at Gateway Village in the heart of Uptown and will serve as the finale of Charlotte SHOUT! presented by Atrium Health and Bank of America.
Here is what all is planned:
Charlotte StrEATs Tasting Tour: On Saturday, April 15th, festival-goers will taste their way through twelve of Charlotte’s iconic neighborhoods. This is a ticketed, 21+ event that will include tastes from 20 restaurants, cooking demonstrations, craft cocktails created by your favorite Charlotte mixologists, and live music.
Participating restaurants and their neighborhoods:
Uptown: Mariposa and Sea Level NC
South End: Bardo and Chapter 6
West Charlotte: Crav’n Caribbean
East Charlotte: Letty’s on Shamrock and Manolo’s Bakery
SouthPark: Renaissance Pâtisserie and Southern Pecan Gulf Coast Kitchen
North Charlotte: Azucar Cuban Restaurant and Plant Joy
Charlotte StrEATs Festival: The main event is free and open to the public on Sunday, April 16th. The festival will feature the area’s top local food and beverage vendors, a celebrity Food Network chef (to be announced soon!), cooking demonstrations, live music, art, and more. We will also have wristbands available to participate in our craft cocktail tasting.
Attendees can purchase food from our dream food truck lineup: Jon G’s BBQ, Katsu Kart, Another Food Truck, Ve-Go Food Truck and Soul Gastrolounge Food Truck.
We will also host our Neighborhood Cook-off, curated by The Plaid Penguin! These battles will pit chefs head-to-head in a cook-off to win the title of StrEATs Neighborhood Champion.
Charlotte StrEATs Smarts: NEW THIS YEAR! There’s a wealth of knowledge in Charlotte’s hospitality community, and we’re spreading that knowledge with help from the experts! Leading up to the big StrEATs weekend, join us for intimate seminars on subjects such as wine, gardening, cooking, and more. These events will take place between April 1st-14th.
