The Spruce Pine Potters Market (SPPM) is a celebrated two-day showcase of exceptional ceramic art. This juried event features work by outstanding artists from Mitchell and Yancey Counties, NC, with work ranging from functional to sculptural. A local show of national significance, visitors will meet the artists and experience the creativity of this vibrant clay community. Saturday, October 10 and Sunday October 11 from 10am – 5pm both days. Admission is free and open to the public.
This beloved annual event welcomes collectors, potters, students, and clay enthusiasts from across the region to discover exceptional art in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Organized and presented by the artists themselves, SPPM showcases a remarkable range of techniques and personal approaches to clay: sculptural and utilitarian, large and small-scale pieces, and work created for cabinets, tables, walls, shelves, gardens, and outdoor spaces.
A highlight of the event is the annual SPPM Sweepstakes, featuring work donated by participating artists. Each year, exhibiting members pick a non-profit to donate to. This year fifty percent of sweepstakes proceeds will benefit The Hive, a Community Center, serving young people and families, located in Spruce Pine, NC.
